Playful yet sinister paintings from Persian artist Ahmad Amin Nazar, we’re not quite sure whether Ahmad’s work is fuelled by a pre apocalyptic angst or existensial torment. These images are really inspiring. The Sand Traveler is a rendering of 1,000 traveling particles, each in pursuit of another. Over time, patterns of travel are exposed as sweeping paths of color.

We’re really liking the work of Kasey McMahon a conceptual and multimedia artist working out of LA.  Her work is driven by a fascination of the relationships people have with technology, the world and each other.  The work displays a refined complexity that exists within and between the natural and technological, Kasey believes imagination is a superpower we all possess and recommends the occasional regression back to the childhood state to view the world in more enthusiastic light. The figure shown here seems to reflect a physical and spiritual surrender to technology, almost sacrificial of our own human instincts.

This work has us truly intrigued. The images are made from integrating scripting languages into CAD to build algorithms which are output to create 3D forms. The process is both fascinating and mind blowing. But the algorithms can produce endless permutations which in turn can be physically built. The work is pioneered by Michael Hansmeyer, an architect and programmer who explores the use of algorithms and programming in order to create architectural forms.
